We have imitated martial law. Post bans and birthday bans are required for users of General. Minimal flaming and trolling is permitted in general. Having said that, CS group is now active as well. I have expanded the avatar restrictions to width of 200px.

Our server has been misconfigured for the past month. I have fixed the issue and those experiencing connectivity issues (the website is offline message) shouldn't be experiencing them any more.

For senior members I have reopened Trusted Member Promotions for people to make their suggestions for TM. The thread will be opened for a week, so let your voice be heard!

Here is a quick update for news relating to MPGH. Things seem to be running smoothly since our last server upgrade in March. Stability has been greatly improved and we should be optimized enough for the summer surge.

We have a number of new staff openings, as we are reopening the GFX team and need a GFX lead, as well as two new middleman. These are high stress positions, which require plenty of time and dedication. Don't apply if you don't fit the requirements, or if you can't handle the stress/time requirements.

If you are a Crossfire gamer, you should follow MPGHCF on Twitter or like us on Facebook to keep up to date with the newest hacks for Crossfire and other related news. The Twitter and Facebook feeds are updated often by the CF forum staff, so that's one of the easiest ways to stay connected.

We recently reopened the General Gaming section section, and hope to see a surge of activity in the section as summer approaches. So if you're a gamer and love gaming in general, stop by and talk about your favorite games with other enthusiastic gamers.

The frontpage of MPGH is going to change this May as we are going to be setting up a portal. Last year I had the same plan, but got very busy with other things. We will be reopening the editor position for the purpose of posting gaming related news and keeping our users up to date.

It was an April Fools prank. Calm down.

Last night, Dave, owner of MPGH found out he has won the Mega Millions jackpot. Being one of the three winners, he decided that MPGH wasn't worth his time or money, and has abandoned his position. Unfortunately, being the only administrator with root access to the server, he has essentially completely thrown away the keys and locked us out of our administration on MPGH.

I haven't been able to get in contact with him, it appears he may have thrown away his phone for fear of his life, holding a winning lottery ticket can be a life threatening danger. As this was our only other link of communication, it pains me to say that we will be shutting down MPGH, effective tomorrow morning, 04/02/2012 at 1 AM. Some of you may be wondering why we just get a court order to transfer ownership to me. However, as this is our last year on Earth (see Mayan Doomsday Fact) it would be best to spend our last year on Earth with family and friends rather than chasing a ghost.

Yesterday, we had some minor downtime where we had do to a server upgrade (added a SSD hd). The server performance has degraded severely, and a tech will need to look at it. Because of performance issues, I've disabled guests viewing of the forum.

I will be posting updates here as they become available.

EDIT: People were having problems logging in and getting emails. Both have been fixed.

EDIT 03/04/12:
It seems that people are having trouble posting, logging in and registering (Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing). I have disabled caching for the time being. If you are still getting this error, report it on this thread.

EDIT 03/08/12:
We were supposed to get one of our server's parts replaced on Monday. Their supplier is running behind, the new part should be in by this upcoming Monday. I have disabled a couple plugins and optimized the server as much as possible with the current hardware issues. I will further optimize the server when we have the new part, and it should be at it's normal speed.

I've also updated the server time, post dates may be off by 8 hours.

Facebook connect has been disabled as well, apparently there was an odd session sharing bug preventing users from registering. I will fix it then re-enable Facebooks connect feature.

We should have the lag issue situated tomorrow. Features like mentions should be back up as well.

THe CPU has been replaced, the lag is pretty much gone. I'll be working on optimizing the server more and putting mentions back online.

We had a minor issue today with the database today. A couple tables (user/attachment views) were crashed (the attachment views were crashed for about a week, and users for about a hour), so that was fixed with some minor downtime. For the past 7 month, the speed of web pages as well as attachments haven't been as fast as they should be. Apparently, our server's speed isn't 1 Gbit even though I've been paying for it. The server techs are currently working on fixing that; I will update this post as it is resolved. In addition, we had some issues with our cache server giving users random IP bans. I'm pretty certain I have resolved this issue. (02/17/12) Edit: Caching disabled completely. It appears that the database corruption wasn't completely fixed. I took down the site for a hour and did a full database repair, no more lag..

Since the skin release in January, I've been adding and upgrading the skin/plugins. A couple plugins, such as experience and the shop, are missing and have to be upgraded/optimized. I'll be rolling out those upgrades as soon as I get some free time.

As for hacks, spring is coming up and this year, like last, I'll be working on a few public pubs. Keep an eye out because we're going to be having releases all spring/summer long!

We have reached the impressive milestone of 5,000,000 posts. After staying up for over 6 years and 22 days (2213 days) including downtime and other difficulties, we have averaged 2259 posts a day. While our daily post count and database size has been ever increasing at a faster rate over the past years, and especially during summer, we have managed to increase our server, staff, and forum services to accommodate our members. @Dave84311 continues to optimize the site to keep MPGH running as lightning fast as possible. We look forward to bringing you the best service possible as we reach our next 5 million posts quite possibly during this year.

We also plan to take part in the SOPA and PIPA website protests, joining the likes of Wikipedia, Reddit, and more on January 18th. If you live in the United States, and even if you don't, we will provide you with the tools to voice your opinion on censorship that will affect us all. As some of you older members remember, MPGH's 6th Anniversary is today. (I barely even remembered it myself) 6 years ago, we started this site and started the rise of hacking F2P FPSes, with one of the originals, WarRock.
