I think it ain't really that bad. Only thing you could try to do is add more depth somehow, in this case it would probably be with lighting and shadows.
    7/10

I say 7/10 because of the light. It just needs more depth.

Here is something that may help you with all your work.
-You want to draw your attention to the focal which would be a render or a person in a stock or whatever. In this case you would want to draw their attention the guy on the left.
-Right now the viewers attention is focused first on the center of the signature where your text is because it is sharper than the rest of the image, then your eyes will go to the light simply because light catches your eyes.
So basically work on your depth and lighting techniques and you'll get so much better.

This sig is otherwise good, it's great to work with lighting and filters and stuff now so later when you become pro you can use your prior knowledge to enhance your work even further.

To work on depth, I believe there is a more in-depth tutorial on this in the tutorials section, you can simply just apply the image to a new layer and then go to filter>gaussin blur on a real low setting like .5 or 1 and then just erase the parts that you want the viewer to see first. Even though it may not make much of a difference to you, it will definitely help. You can also do the same thing but sharpen it instead and erase all but the focal.

For lighting I usually just apply the image and then go to render>lighting effects and mess around there with various angles and light settings. Then you can play with the layer styles to get new effects.

    Jesus... Christ.... Proper CnC......... /

For lighting, download lighting brushes, they work too for some signatures if you want the lighting to glare down on something

Thanks. Your idea works too but you just got to have an eye for it. That's probably what he did, he just overdid it.

It looks like he brushed it with a soft brush and added lens flare.

    Cool
Text= 9/10. Great job compared to your other work.

As far as the sig as a whole, I'll give it a 7.5 out of 10. The light source is too prominent, as pointed out before.
