2many colors. bright clashes w/ medium tones.

Smudging need to be a little more complete and less blurry adding more details inside the smudged area with more smudge would help this

I think the colours are a bit too vibrant and as you have been told, they also clash.

After you do some smudging it often helps to sharpen it a little as smudging makes it blurry.
Will be sure to do that from the next time .
