    Nexons new Hacking fine, a closer look

    So you all read the thread about Nexon Updated ToS, stating hacker will be fined a whopping $1,000. And I read through some of your posts and you guys said that if you signed up earlier and agreed to the earlier ToS, you will be fine. But thats wrong.
    Read this:
    They dont need user input or agreement.

    NEXON AMERICA, INC. - TERMS OF USE
    PLEASE READ THIS TERMS OF USE AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE SERVICE. Nexon America, Inc. ("Nexon America," the "Company," "we," "us") provides this web site (the "Site") and all Site-related services and products, including, without limitation, massively multiplayer online role-playing and multiplayer online casual games (collectively, the "Service") subject to your compliance with the terms and conditions set forth in this agreement (the "Agreement"). This Agreement governs the relationship between the Company and you, the Site visitor and/or Service member ("you") with respect to your use of the Service. It is important that you read carefully and understand the terms and conditions of this Agreement.

    We reserve the right at any time to:

    * Change the terms and conditions of this Agreement;
    * Change the Service, including terminating, eliminating, supplementing, modifying, adding to or discontinuing any content or data on or feature of the Service or the hours that the Service is available;
    * Change any fees or charges, if any, related to your use of the Service; and
    * Change the equipment, hardware or software required to use and access the Service.

    Any changes we make will be effective immediately upon notice, which we may provide by any means including, without limitation, posting on the Site. Your continued use of the Site or Service after such notice will be deemed acceptance of such changes. Be sure to return to this page periodically to ensure familiarity with the most current version of this Agreement. Upon our request, you agree to sign a non-electronic version of this Agreement.

    Now im sure they wont pursue, but now thats proof that every hacker here is liable for the fine.
    Thank me if you just pissed your pants.

    That means if someone files a lawsuit against them they can just change the tos and win the case

    that's retarted

    When i sign up for something and click the agree button im agreeing to whats stated in the TOS at the time of the sign up if i disagree with something they add in later, i should not get in trouble for doing it...thats really gay

    The joys of digital contracts . That is an age-old argument that has, unfortunately, fallen in the favor of the game developers over and over.

    Edit: which, by the way, you DID agree to the fact that they can change their ToS at any time. That was a term you agreed to in the beginning.

    in the registeration for a "nexon game account" you have to be at least the age of "12" so.... i doubt a 8 year old would even figure out how to make a account for a game like this or anything else on the internet for that matter....

    but that would be UBER-fucked up for fineing a little 8 year old lol

    Its just a scare and technically i dont know how they are able to even say this in there TOS because its llegal to hack a free game. Its only not legal if....

    Hacking (or Modding) a game is only illegal if...

    1) It's a commercial game -- If you have to pay for it, it's commercial.

    2) It's closed source -- This is in line with most commercial games... Open source games (like those found on SourceForge.net) allow you to modify it as you can get access to the source code.

    3) There's no specific method to modify the game -- Unless the developers give you way to apply mods to the game, you're not legally permitted to do so as you'll have to reverse-engineer a way to do so.

    Even though hacking games are illegal, those who actually do it usually aren't caught or pursued as they're doing it creative purposes. Developers may get angry with these hackers, but there's not much they could do.

    HOWEVER, those hacking games to play them freely (like removing DRM stuff or disc requirements) are the ones that are pursued as they're practically stealing the game & are usually imprisoned when caught. Those to steal unreleased games are the worst as the gamers will assist law enforcement to catch them.

    I know rite Nexon is so gay. So what a little 10 year old hacks. Maybe they just suck or wanna see what it like to hack.

    So Nexon just says a bunch of stuff wow.... and glitches are just some shit that when Nexon made the game a lot ppl did gay stuff so they got glitches.

    Back to my point sueing a 10 year old? Isnt that a illegal even though they hacked?

    Im 10

    Can they sue a 12 year old kid? No not leagaly they could however sue the parents of that child. However the idea of them actually doing so.....soooo not gonna happen. You'd have better chances of winning the lottery or being struck by lightning than being sued for hacking a free mmo fps.
