Many people get turned off by the fact that they have to download so much stuff and store in their computer, so they turn to mobile apps, web wallets like coinbase, blockchain.info etc. There's one drawback tho, security.

If you're not storing large amounts of coins (>10 BTC), i guess you could use the conventional web wallets or mobile wallets. it's just so much more convenient!

Yea the most popular ones are like coinbase, mind you that coinbase has the final decision to lock your account just like paypal!

so it's best to use wallets like blockchain.info

coinbase will hold your funds if they find out the address that you send to or receive from has links to gambling/illegal sites.

to me that's just an excuse to steal from people.

Isn't that the whole point of bitcoin. :P Well in that case I'd better use a different service. I am using Electrum from a previous post on this thread, that should be fine right?

    Electrum should be fine.

I guess coinbase is that strict because it is closely tied to banks and stuff, hence the need to comply to such strict regulations

It asks for username, e-mail and company name. I want total anonymity. I have already chosen for Electrum.
