You sound like you bitch quite a lot. I run 5km every day, just for myself, because I want to stay in shape and I still train 2-4 days a week. If you feel that running 3km is too much then just quit the team, obviously you're not of much worth to them anyway.

Physically it's a big jump, but any exercise is a build up, the coach is kinda dumb for not building you up instead of expecting you to double up, but you gotta push through.
Everyday after school or whatever, whenever you can do it repeatedly, run 3 days 1.5 km, then do 1.6 km, 1.7 km, 1.8 km, 1.9 km, 2.0 km, 2.2 km, 2.4 km, 2.6, 2.8, 3.0..... It would take about a month, you can just do +.2 repeatedly if you feel comfortable and speed up the pace. I built my self up to 1.6 miles doing .1 mile increments every 3 days before winter came and I couldn't run anymore.
