I'm so done right now. Now you aren't even following your own rule. Its only multiplication when there isn't a symbol. Thus, brackets don't mean times. You just literally proved yourself wrong.

Whats next, I'm going to be told that the dress was white and gold...

So the answer would be 5 x 9 not 5 + 9

And there is a invisible multiplication sign at 6x(W). How old are you?

I just want to add another example if brackets means times.

Original question:
7 + 20 + 10 = ? Everyone know its equals 27

But because I want to make it someone to solve one part of this first I'll add a bracket
7 + (20+10) = ? Is the answer now
7 + x(30) = 210
Okay you're dumb as fuck . There is no invisible times if there is a +/-
I learnt these when I was 11.

Okay I used to complain about school but I think I appreciate Singapore's education now.

Theres a reason we're the top 3 in PISA.

7+(30) is 37
7-(30) is -23
But
7(30) is 210

I am a fucking a1 student in math

This is right, not Brackets mean times. Brackets don't mean anything besides "Do this part first". In maths you don't write the multiplication sign in some places. when you said 6(6) that's times. Only because WE LEFT OUT THE MULTIPLICATION SIGN because we could at this time.

Correct statement: "Brackets means multiplication WHEN there isn't a symbol in front of the opening bracket"

Wow, calm the fuck down.

I was simply saying that you can't say brackets means multiplication. Jesus.

yah, i know. But it is the way i've been taught and i can re-assure that it's always correct.

14. 48÷2(9+3)

48/2(12)
24(12)
24*12=288
but
48/(2(12))=2

I'd go with 288 because casio calcs are bound to be better than a calculator from texas.
