No If It's Programmed Right It Won't cause any Ban It Can Just Close ur Game. I mean Like 2Gaurds X-Trap when u launch the game and this Programm when u are InGame.

The Anti-cheat of BF3 and such games is of year 2012 work on games with engines of 2011, 2012. The Crossfire engine is about 2000/2001. There is no way that something so new can work on something so old. So answering your question, X-Trap is compatible that's why they use it.

Wolfenstein Enemy Territorry made in 2002(im not sure about that , but the game is really old) use Punkbuster too. So the years doesnt matter.
