Connect Xbox 360 controller to Pc

1.) I need help to connect my controller to my laptop , to play games like CounterStrike.
2.) All i have is the Xbox 360 Charger usb.
3.) Do i need another equipment ?
4.) Do i need Any sort of programmes ?

I dont have the wireless adapter whatever its called.
