A scaled-down version of the regular Uzi, first introduced in 1980. The Mini-Uzi is 600 mm (23.62 inches) long or 360 mm (14.17 inches) long with the stock folded. Its barrel length is 197 mm (7.76 inches), its muzzle velocity is 375 m/s (1230 f/s) and its effective range is 100 m. It has a greater automatic rate of fire of 950 rounds per minute due to the shorter bolt.
The Mini-Uzi returns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In Modern Warfare 2, the Mini-Uzi is a much better weapon than its Call of Duty 4 as its recoil has been reduced. It is unlocked at Level 44 in multiplayer. The iron sights on this weapon are also quite clear and open, making attachments like the Suppressor a good option, it is also considered a faster firing counterpart of a silenced UMP with less damage.
The Mini-Uzi is incredibly effective in close to mid-range combat when used with Stopping Power in maps such as Skidrow, Scrapyard, or Rust. It is also a good alternative to carrying a shotgun, as it is deadly when used in close quarters, which frees up the secondary weapon slot. The Mini-Uzi does however have a slow reload, and is very ineffective for reload canceling.
If the Mini-Uzi is attached with the ACOG Scope (but not with Rapid Fire) the result will be a surprisingly accurate SMG. The level of recoil could even be compared to the SCAR-H, allowing to shoot and kill at mid or long ranges with bursts, quite easily. It also performs very well with a silencer. Scavenger is popular among Mini-Uzi users as the player will be able to only kill about 6 players before the mags are empty. Nevertheless, it also pairs well with Marathon, having very high mobility.
It is also often seen with the Akimbo which doubles the firepower of the Mini-Uzi. However, when used in this configuration the inability to aim down sights particularly hampers the accuracy of the gun, which is only negated slightly by the Steady Aim perk. Once again, the Mini-Uzi has a folding butt, and not a foregrip.
