I have tried an 8 core AMD CPU, benchmarked etc. My former 2500k Intel CPU performed better

Yeah, I know the Intel would be faster, there's no doubt about that because it is a quad core, quad core cpu's tend to be >0.5ghz but <1.5ghz faster than octo cores. I'm guessing its because an octo core can perform more tasks at once at a slower speed but the quad cores run less tasks at once but at a higher speed. If you get 2 similarly priced cpu's, one from amd and one from intel, the amd might win but if you spend $40 extra then the intel will definately win. So in conclusion, amd make better budget cpu's but their higher end ones aren't as good as intel. They're both better at different things.

AMD is only good for budget PC's. If you want performance Intel is what you need.
Compare my 3930k with a AMD 6 core CPU. My Intel will blow the shit out of it.

2 Questions, how does your little brother know your EXACT specs and why is "he" a girl on his gender settings and why's he from Ecuador and you're from the UK?
