    ~$1000 budget (gaming computer)

Hello, I am looking to build myself a new gaming computer around the time of Christmas, to give my parents more time on their own computer.
I found this guide by ultrawtf and was wondering if it was up to date. With this build I am also looking to buy a monitor, which can be paid outside of the budget. With that being said, what would be an ideal monitor to buy?

    1000$ BUDGET
    CPU - Intel Core i5-6600K

FAN - CM Hyper 212 EVO

    MOBO - Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3

    GPU - Radeon R9 390

    RAM - Crucial Ballistix 8GB

    SSD - Crucial BX100 120GB

    HDD - Seagate 1 TB

    PSU - CORSAIR CX750

    CASE - Corsair Carbide SPEC-01

Credits @ultrawtf for his guide on pc builds

get a GTX 970, and swao the 1TB hard drive for a 2TB hard drive, as 1TB can get filled up fast on a gaming pc, other than that the pc looks good

Why go for a GTX 970? He could be just getting it cause he's more of a rendering guy. What do you prefer, 3.5gb VRam or 8 gb?

Is there a big difference between an expensive HDD and a cheaper one? Take these for example.

I was looking at the case, and I am wondering is there any way to add USB ports, or would I have to buy a new case for that? I'm looking for a case with 3-4 USB ports.
