If you want a solid monitor that your rig would crush, I suggest getting a 1440p display with a really high refresh rate and response time. G-Sync couldn't hurt as well.

I currently have this for my rig: https://www.amazon.com/SWIFT-PG279Q-...ds=asus+pg279q

Extremely high refresh rate, get response time, G-Sync, amazing 1440p display...

I think its one of the best out there.
I'm thinking about getting a wide and a normal monitor so I can switch between the two, plus I can get all the icons off the home screen of the wide monitor and have just a clean and sexy background. My main focus is quality, not price. So I want to make sure I get the best that I can.

Remember, I'm not paying attention to the price. Right now I'm trying to find the best wide, curved monitor I can, then I'll be trying to find a good 16:9

That seems good advice. I was just about to look around for a monitor so you have saved me some work. Thank you.

If price is no concern for you, go with the ASUS. It has a littlebit more features and has little bleeding. Also it comes 100Hz out the box, while Acer requires you to overclock it manually.

    Thats the plan
    Any recommendations for 4k/1440p 16:9s?
    Thanks for the help!

Depends. Are you looking to put them next to the Widescreen? How big should be the size? If you're looking for 27" and putting them next to the Widescreen, I'd recommend either the Dell S2716DG or ASUS PG279Q/PG278Q. All three have their positive sides and their own quirks. All of them are VESA 100x100 compatible. They're all 1440p, have G-Sync, over 144Hz. The Dell has 4 (or 2?) USB 3.0 Ports. If you're looking for a 27" UHD Monitor, check out the PG27AQ. It's similar to the PG279Q but has a 1ms longer grey-to-grey response.

If you want more detail to any of the monitors, I'll be glad to give them to you!

Yeah and with what they give out the box it's worth it. I mean I personally can't remember setting it up and then having to overclock it. If it's out the box that's already excellent, I don't have to do any work. And plus, the design is just amazing.

@Walkyr I was just reading reviews on Amazon, and apparently the quality control on the wide ASUS monitor is absolute shit, leaving a lot of broken panels. From what it's advertised it sounds amazing, but there are reviews that say otherwise.

Also, I've been doing research for multi-monitor displays, and I've been getting a lot of mixed results. Seems like a lot of games don't support it, but there are community fixes for those games. How much could I push for with 2 EVGA 1080 FTWs (not yet purchased, but from what I've seen they're the most powerful gfx cards out there)? I know that they aren't on the list of Surround supported cards, but I don't entirely know how far it limits multi monitor displays. I'd imagine it's only a matter of time until they are supported anyways. So what should I opt for?
Thanks for taking time to help me out.

Yeah, the ASUS Widescreen is a extremely strong Lottery like with the CPUs. Quality Control is bonkers but if you catch a good one you'll be extremely pleased, seeing as a Quality Controlled Monitor is amazing. Experienced it first hand. I don't exactly know how bad it can go but I know that here if you don't like the product/has any kind of defect you can send it back. I'm not sure how it is with the UK Amazon. If it's the same, I'd say go for it. The worst that could happen is that you will need to send it back and get new ones multiple times before you get a good controlled one.

For Multi-Monitor Games there's always the community for fixes. 1080s can push a 4k Screen at Ultra with ease (~60FPS on GTAV and Witcher 3). With SLI 1080 you can probably achieve even more FPS if the SLI-Mode is good, which most modern games can support. For 1440p, you can easily run 3 and maybe even add a 4th screen. And for what type of 1080s you want, it depends on what you're wanting. If you want power, go with the ZOTAC 1080 AMP! Extreme. EVGA is king at Durability and Overclocking while ASUS is the best for looks in my opinion. I'd say avoid the Founders Edition if you aren't going to overclock your GPUs, seeing as else you're just wasting money.

I actually live in the US, but my profile says UK to fit Blackbeard. I plan on overclocking, which I imagine won't be a problem with watercooling. So if I got 3 monitors could I use them while gaming without Surround support? Is that ZOTAC card more powerful than any other alternatives, even with overclocking? I'm just going to build the most powerful and badass rig I can in a month or so, even building my own desk n shit to completely revamp gaming for me, so what I'm looking for is what I can make the most powerful, OC'd or not

Basically Surround Support is that all three monitors are being used as part of the game. Without it, the two monitors go black if you use the game on Fullscreen (On older games at least). If you set the game to Fullscreen Windowed or Windowed, you can have access to all three monitors while having the game on one monitor.

The ZOTAC is a stunningly strong card, it beats the Stock Founders Edition and the 8G by ASUS and the SC/FTW by EVGA. O8G by ASUS is close but still not beating the AMP! Extreme. If you overclock the Founders Edition, though, it will surpass the ZOTAC with ease, seeing as the ZOTAC is already at its limit from the start (Superclocked from the beginning), but it's all dependent on how good of a GPU you get. FE are just known that A LOT of their cards can be overclocked to the 2200MHz region.

If you're doing this, you should get a Desk-PC and install in there a 6950X with 128GB of Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM, haha! Make some custom Watercooling, Cablesleeving, Lighting and you have an AMAZING setup. If you want to have it properly stunning, I'd recommend to attempt to route the cables for your keyboard through the glass (If that's even possible) and use VESA Mounting for the 3 Monitors. The desk will be properly clean like that!

From tests I've seen, the FTW will beat the FE when it's overclocked, I'm assuming you're joking about the 2.5k on just a CPUS and RAM lol... right? But in all seriousness, I mean I'd be fine with getting a 5-6k rig, but at 8k+ it would 100% go into a classic car for me haha. I'm looking at 32gb of RAM, should be fine? Also, it sort of seems to me that if I didn't have the ability to play games across all the screens it would defeat the purpose a bit. You think I could do the ASUS and 2 1440p screens just fine? And also, if I clocked up other cards as much as possible, what'd be the best then? I was thinking about making the cords from the keyboard go into the desk somehow so I wouldn't have to see them.

Oh alright, my bad then! But you should probably wait for their KINGPIN and CLASSIFIED Cards, they're the real crazy bastards and have RGB Lighting.

I personally use 32GB as well, and it's more then enough for my Dual Monitor setup and I'm able to run several games, cmds, chrome tabs, etc. at once.

Don't worry, they're all just 1440p, you'll manage it fine with SLI Mode. Worst that could happen is that you won't be able to see Ultra 100FPS but Ultra 35FPS or so. And even if the surround system isn't enabled, don't worry. I personally use two monitors. One for games, the other one for watching YouTube, listening to Music, watching Anime, Chat on Steam, browse Market, etc. It's very practical. With three monitors you could have the game at the middle, YouTube on the left and porn on the right with a privacy filter in incognito mode...or just have hacks open, depends.

What exactly do you mean by the first sentence? Was that the response to when I asked if it'd be fine for me to do the one wide ASUS and 2 1440p monitors? I'm mostly fine as long as I stay above 30fps. And I suppose the extra monitors would make things pretty fun even w/o surround.

Sorry if it was unclear, haha! I ment to say that 1080s are ment to do 4K Gaming. They will handle 1440p super smooth. Especially with SLI, seeing as you have 1.5x the power. Should be enough power for the 3 monitors. I do recommend to get a strong PSU though if you do plan on going LGA2011 and KINGPIN EVGA with your next build.

Trust me, 2 Monitors are already super cool for Multitasking. With 3 you're basically set for the next few years before needing to upgrade any of them, especially with their amazing quality.
