    your comment confuses me. SSD wont improve your FPS and its possible that the HDD is to slow for recording..interesting.

    let me make that clear:

    CS:GO isnt a very demanding game,but yet when you use fraps you need to write insane amounts of data to you SLOW hard drive,and that makes fraps lag and your entire computer lag,getting a SSD WILL improve your FPS,and SSDs in general are better.
    you could also install your OS on it and use your current HDD as a storage solution for your videos.

    Let me be clear.

    SSD will not lower or raise your FPS, However when recording you need to write all the files to your HDD. Sometimes HDD can be to slow for it. Since you use it all for one. I think he has 1 2TBB hdd that means everything runs on that HDD so that will lower the total write speed for recording.

    Yes SSD makes your PC faster but not FPS wise...

    The game lags. i record at a constant 120 frames even when heavy things are going on in the game and suddenly theres just a random drop that goes to like 58 fps and then all the sound gets muffled for 1 second.

    Doesnt SSD Help 'transfer' files quicker. Could that help?

    It will not give you 'higher' FPS.
    What is the R/W Speed of your hard drive?
    And, try using DXTORY, It is far superior to Fraps and doesn't knock down your fps nearly as much/
    How do i check that?

    Doesn't look like it. SSD wont give FPS improvement it will give write and read improvement.
    You won't notice any difference with FPS when your playing on a old HDD or super fast SSD the loading times however would be quicker

    That could help yes, However SSD has a write limit something allong those lines, What you could try look on google if theres a HDD good for recording or whatever and use it as second HDD in your system.

    you are trying to make him not get a SSD that is 5x faster then an HDD,i dont understand why but sure.you probably cant tell since you dont have one.

    less failure,no moving parts,really fast but you like you lound and slow HDDs dont you.

    I do have an SSD but you're a saying an SSD improves his FPS which it wont. It will help him recording his game and it porbally also solve his issue since the writespeed is much faster BUT IT wont boost your fps..

    God,of course it wont make a big difference at just playing,but recording is where the SSD shines because of the need to write so much data to the SSD

    the game lags. its stable at 120 fps then just drops to like 50 and goes crazy then goes back to 120

    It'll make next to zero difference there too. The average 7200RPM drive has a write speed of about 10mb/s, so it'd be rather difficult to catch up to that. Besides, all of the video captured from FRAPS is loaded straight into RAM until it can be written to disk, which makes it next to literally impossible for your rig to fall behind on write. Even beside that point, write speed has absolutely no correlation to framerate in any possible situation, recording or not. An SSD wouldn't solve even a single one of his issues.
    When the earth is changed into a humid dungeon,
    In which Hope like a bat
    Goes beating the walls with her timid wings
    And knocking her head against the rotten ceiling;
    When the rain stretching out its endless train
    Imitates the bars of a vast prison
    And a silent horde of loathsome spiders
    Comes to spin their webs in the depths of our brains,
    All at once the bells leap with rage
    And hurl a frightful roar at heaven,
    Even as wandering spirits with no country
    Burst into a stubborn, whimpering cry.
    — And without drums or music, long hearses
    Pass by slowly in my soul; Hope, vanquished,
    Weeps, and atrocious, despotic Anguish
    On my bowed skull plants her black flag.
