Wattage isn't everything. What brand is your power supply? Besides brand, overheating can be caused by improper cooling, bad contact with heatsink, problems with overheating on the northbridge, etc. What are your temps idling? When was the last time you applied thermal paste to your CPU cooler? Did you build this PC or buy it?
Random shut downs can be caused by a VARIETY of things. You need to be more specific for anyone to really help...
Obviously this is the wrong place to post this, because this is the hacks section. So maybe a mod will move it to the proper location.

Hello, I recently bought a Radeon R9 290x and I have a 733watts power supply. I was wondering, if I have enought watts to support my computer, why does it over heat and automatically shut down my computer when I play a minute or two of GTA V?
Video Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R9 290x 200 series
Processors: Intel Core i5-3570K CPU 3.40GHz
Memory RAM: 12.0GB
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology
OS: Windows 7 (64)
If this isn't the right section or place, I am very sorry and please move it to the correct place. Thanks in advance.
for those cards is reconmended 500w of power to be going through, HOWEVER this is constant flow, check the label on your psu, it should say average power, even the high paid corsairs dont run at their set wattage, check your average Wats running through,
however you should be fine if it's running at the moment and you're not experiencing either shutdowns or screen blacks, you should be ok
