I need to know which computer that you have. Because if it's a Quosmio, it's over heating, or the computer does not have the requirements(Memory, Processor, Graphics Card and so on) to play the game. I use to have this problem when I use to play Left 4 Dead 2 on steam, my computer had all the requirements to play the game, but my computer was over heating. So I got a good small fan, and putted next to my laptop, now I play the game smoothly with my friends.
Put your computer details, and I will check it, or maybe someone else will.
Press thanks if I helped =3

Life without you have no meaning.
Life without you is no longer fun.
Life without you is not worth living.
I would fight an army for you.
I would give my life for you.
I would make you smile for everytime that it's out of your beautiful face.
I would fight the GODS to be with you.
I would DO ANYTHING to be with you.
I cry everyday at night thinking of you.
I feel like jumping out of a bridge when thinking of you.
I die a little bit for every second that I think about you.

But yet we're not meant to be together.

1.Computer could be overheating, list specs of your PC.
    2. Power supply could be going bad. (always a possibility)
    3. Is your power supply hot? If so make sure the fan on it is working.
    4. Make sure all the connections on your motherboard are secure, CPU & 24pin motherboard connector mostly.
    5. Clean out the dust from your heatsink and everything else.

    G'day

How exactly does the 300W psu work if the 550W one fails? Are you sure the 550W one is actually capable of giving 400W+ (that would be your system under load)?

    inb4 PSU has a short.

could be overloading your mobo or any components, especially if you have an old mobo.

happened to me a long time ago when i was using my old PC, and the trusty old battlePSU (250W, but it was a tank LOL)
It ran my HD 3650 just fine, albeit a little slow. (it called for at least 350W)
so thinking i could fix it i got a 350 Watt PSU from a friend and put it right in. worked great till i got BSOD on ever startup. (about 10 mins in)
it was overheating my mobo and GPU, cause the Amperage was too high, and causing it to shutdown from the heat.

put the 250W back in and it booted but my GPU was never the same...

Extra: just finished my new rig 2 days ago, it's nice.
Specs: (cause I wanna show off 8D)
    • GA-P55-UD3 Mobo
    • 8 Gigs G.Skill 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM
    • i5-760 OC'd to 3.8 Ghz (stock 2.8)
    • Sapphire Vapor-X HD5770 PCIe 2.1x16 // 1G GDDR5 RAM (OC'd to 945Mhz GPU, 1335 Mhz GDDR [stock 860/1200])
    • Rosewill 750w Modular PSU
    • Zerotherm ZT-560D CPU Fan
    • 640GB SataIII(6G/s) W.D. HDD
    • Antec-902 Case +2 extra 120mm Blue LED Fans for the side panel and front duct

Running Win7 x64 ATM, No problems yet.
    50% constant CPU/GPU Fan Speed

    CPU Idle//MaxLoad: 35*C//55*C
    GPU Idle//MaxLoad: 40*C//65*C

Back on topic....: Need any other help? /

i have fixed the problem, when i put in the new psu i connected the 20pin in the motherboard instead of adding the extra 4pin so it makes it 24pin, and i went on star wars and the computer didnt turn off but im still guna get a new case for my computer.

Rather than a new case consider better cooling /

A newer case can mean better cooling.

Ex: my Antec-902 was designed to provide gratuitous amounts of cooling. It's steel Construction (Heat dissipation), has strategically placed fans to control the airflow so it works the best in the gfx/cpu/ram area, and the HDD's.

But yeah he could also get a better CPU Fan/system among other things.

Kinda depends on how much he's willing/wants to spend.

But better cooling means better cooling. Unless his current case has no free spaces for extra / better fans and no space for a good heatsink, he's prolly better off with better cooling than a new case /
