    Newbie on Photoshop

Well, I'm not really a newbie. I work with basic and easy photoshop stuff to make signatures and avatars but this one is really giving me a headache, since the tutorial isn't very detailed. I could actually make around.... I don't know, like 80% of what's in the tutorial.
Here's the website: Advanced Glow Effects | psd tuts+
Can someone give me a detailed version of that tutorial? I don't know if this is the correct section to ask it but I really need some help.
My work is in the attachments. Rate it on the poll.

The tutorial, though. It isn't detailed as I want it to be. For example, saying what blending options we need and what text options we need, etc.

Yeah, but as I said: I'm a newbie at Photoshop. I don't know everything, so I don't want to screw up my work.

Save in .png format. Notice all that noise around the focal point?
That won't be there if you save in .png.
