My friend that passed away a few years ago was a high school drop out,
but he was pretty successful with graphic design.
He did everything from apparel, to murals.
Having a good GPA looks good on paper, but designers are more interested in raw talent I think.
This is a little iffy. I think they do look at your GPA and your talent. I know that if you want to get into sports then you need to be doing good in school and also have talent in that sport. I'm not sure if it would apply to graphic designing,Don't assume they'll look at just your talent... Be on the safe side and work hard at achieving a good GPA.

Do graphic design employers look at your college GPA?
Yes, but a varying degree depending on what you wish to do
I got my current position based on my business management qualifications and my portfolio, the majority of my time is spent communicating with clients to find what they actually want, models and print firms, yet say you worked for a large company you may do nothing other than illustrate
