The linework on the render looks decent, some of it could use a little brushing up on. Everything seems way too sharp, and overall quality seems to be a bit low.

Other than that, it just feels empty.

As always, your works are pretty nice.
I do like those sharp lines, yet the image itself feels empty and the colors are too distracting imo.
    I dislike the text tho.

Why weren't you? :O My worst CnC about your works was about the repetition of similiar designs.

Btw, as for the background, go for your usual works, but also implement those sharp lines on the render. However, you must pay attention to the blending.
A cool thing you can do is to have those lines "interact" with the background.
One sweet example would have having a background with any source of liquid (lake, sea, etc) then having those lines really close to it and having them to "dissolve" into it (just like putting a dirty brush into a cup of water).

I'd be curious how your wall-e image (page 3 of your DA) would look if you added this style in it. (and removed the topaz)

P.s. I'm interested in the image purely for how those lines look, the general composition of the image is lacking a little.

Good to see that you're expanding your visions.
However, this sort of feels like your old style but with a little bit less clutter.

You're on your way, keep practicing.

A style is what I call a personal way of doing things that defines who you are and what your art looks or sound like.
Me for example, my imagery is desaturated, filled with contrast and if anything it's somber and tilting towards horror and macabre.

I'm of a similar mindset, but with a few caveats. For someone to have their own style, it has to profoundly different from anything anyone else does. Unless you're doing something not seen before in use of resources, concept, execution, and composition, it's not your style.

In this case, I see lots of elements I've seen before. Does that mean it's bad? No. Does that mean it's unique and his own style? Also no.

False, a style is simply a way of doing something.
Be it yours or somebody else's, it doesn't matter as a style isn't tied to its former owner.
    1. The way in which something is said, done, expressed, or performed.
    2. The combination of distinctive features of literary or artistic expression, execution, or performance characterizing a particular person, group, school, or era.
    3. A quality of imagination and individuality expressed in one's actions and tastes.

Nowhere did I say it's bad. Art is always considered and rated by its viewer, which can be interpreted in billions of ways.
I just think that the proper way of rating someones works is subjective. Vision, originality, technique and impact.
Which then again is rated by its viewer, so it will come out differently almost every time.
