    should we ban the burker?

Well in australia theres a big detabe on banning the BUrker(traditional headwear for muslin wemon)
NOw i think they should have the right to wear something that goes with there culture. i think thats what is so great about aus, accepting everyone, i mean i think they should have to take it off if there in court, some sort of legal arrangment or police involment but i think its there right to wear it becuase its art of there culture, not a way to hide themslefs from people.

    Burqa*

I don't see a reason for them to wear them, but it's all tradition and shit. Still, i don't think thats good enough, it's kind of intimidating, if they want to live here, they should want to fit in, or they have no use in this country.

Hell just go all the way and ban religion. And cigarettes.

I think they should be able to wear them. That is like saying christians can't wear rosary beads or a cross necklace.

I think they should. I don't care if it's a tradition. You aren't allowed to walk into a Bank with a helmet or balaclava so you shouldn't be able to walk in with a burqa.

    Private property.

If you are on private property, you have to obey the owners "rules" or he can request your leave. This goes for pretty much any extreme clothing as well.

People tend to forget that wherever they walk is not public.
    ---------------------------------
Should: Be banned upon REQUEST of owners of said private property or they can take their leave. This is law by any means already. Just put up a sign.
    -----------------------------------

The question is public property, should people be allowed to run around in fucking drapes?

WELL............ its trying to tell people what to wear and what not to wear. If its in public areas, fine. But any private property is (by law) able to refuse/kick you out because of it.

Its not discrimination, and to be honest it is a LOT safer with a burqa ban for police and the like.

    Australia isnt private preopertie.
Its australia, its apart of everything they are. its how they live, and what are we to tell them to take them off?
if a mouslem country asked us to take off a jesus cross necklace, it would be an outrage.

But a Jesus Necklace doesn't cover your face.

It kind of does, whenever you see someone wearing that what do people think? Oh they are muslim, and if you aren't muslim you don't have to wear a burqa, unless it is required for you to.

Yeah but the argument to ban the burqa is that its a security risk. Not because they're telling us they're muslim by wearing it.
