To edit .dds files i use GIMP, but to edit and view .dds files from gimp you have to download a plugin. So I did that, obviously, and I made my cursor from scratch using MS paint at first, since I find it easier for me to make small pictures like that. I then save the picture and open it through gimp.(when i save the picture through MS paint just save it as a png or something) In gimp erase the white background till you only see the crosshair and a transparent background (transparent backgrounds on gimp are just a pattern of grey squares). Do this for both the default crosshair and target crosshair. I reccomend making the target crosshair bigger, so you notice a change. The normal size of the frame for the default crosshair is 32x32 and the normal size of the picture frame for the target crosshair should be 64x64. MOST IMPORTANT THING!!! = MAKE SURE THE CENTER OF THE CROSSHAIR IS THE CENTER OF THE WHOLE PICTURE FRAME!!!
hrm i dun know how to work this forums format much so sorry i don't know hot to make it so you can PM me, but this is how you make your own crosshair!!! or at least how i did it. There are 2 main files for your crosshair, the default one and the one that shows up when a target is in your range. The default one is named "crosshair.dds" the one that shows up when a target is in your range is called "crosshairtarget.dds".
