Can't Reach Server...Frustration..

nothing else has worked even the post on here for it

my question: What can i do the change minecraft from saying "can't reach server"?

because this is very frustrating, I've tried the port forwarding (not sure if I have done that correctly), I've checked to see if the firewall was blocking it but it wasn't even on to block it, and I have tried other forums and nothing is working. I am beyond frustrated now. Can anybody set by step help me. I have a Linksys internet connection, WRT54G is the model number. Running on Windows 7.

Try Adding a Server like use this IP since it is up: 71.17.131.195 and the server name is whatever you want...

Just to make sure its not you and just the servers..

You got a cracked or premium??Try portforwarding agian.

I've tried multiple servers and they all give me the same thing.
Also I have the game i bought it online from the website, and portforward made me do too many things I couldn't even keep up with it when I tried to backtrack to see what could've gone wrong.

I don't even know how portforwarding works or what it really is so don't ask me on that one its all casakim xD

but I have seen people have just been getting this problem left and right but I have no clue how they are getting it.
