My computer = ruined (failed flashing)
I guess this was my fault.
tl:dr: BIOS flashing gone wrong, computer ruined.
My main computer is from 2006. It has 4 GB RAM, GeForce 9500 GT 1 GB, Dual Core @ 2.4 ghz. Not great, but it works great for what I need it too. I don't play games really made after 2008, but whatever. The main reason I said it was from 2006 because this was before dual BIOS and shit like that was mainstream.
So for the past 2 days my neighborhood has been having blackouts for a couple minutes at a time (fucking farmer's electric)
I recently was going through nVidias website, and it turns out that my graphics card had more updated drivers that my current ones (dated in 2009)
While downloading them I got the idea to update all my drivers. I went to dells website to the driver section and found that I was using really old drivers, so I decided to get new ones.
Turns out there was also a BIOS update for my computer. I have the 2006 BIOS while the updated ones are from 2009. obviously I should update amirite
So here I am, flashing my BIOS while a power outage happened. (Pretty funny because I was making fun of my friends who got a lot of power outages yesterday)
So, obviously I'm like wtf. After the power comes back, I turn it on. Nothing appears, but there is a beeping sound.
I checked the reference manual, and it turns out that the beep code stood for BIOS wrong checksum, or some shit like that.
My fault for flashing the BIOS, but daum /neber
So now my main computer I get to use is from 2002 /woohoo
Too bad I can't get my files either because that computer was before SATA drives.
