I thought it was 2 for a while, but it actually is 288.

You do the brackets, but then its Multiplication/Division in the order they appear in. Division is first in the order, so that is done first. The remainder from that division is then multiplied by 12. You end up getting 288.

He's right. 2 is out since we divided by 48 which itself remained 24. Then it's 24 divided by 12 which is 2.

You did it like the most longest way possible. You can solve it in 2 steps:
48÷2(9+3)=
48÷2x12=
24x12=288

I did the math on both, both are correct. See no issue here.

is
2+3 + x 4 +5
So the answer would be 5 x 9 not 5 + 9

Im saying it just depends on what is in the parenthesis or "brackets" so if a problem is the "brackets" then you would do that first but if there is no problem it should be treated as a multiplication symbol but it reality this problem has no actual answer because it is written wrong both answers are correct

and it would be
(2+3)+(4+5)
(5)+(9)
but since the addition symbol is in the way they are treated as normal numbers and you add so it would be 14 since they are not directly next to each other
