I mean only people who can travel or live in the city can get the best out of this app. I installed it and opened the app and only one person in my area plays it and he is like 40 year old living with his mother on social security PLUS he is mentally unstable. Yeah thought the same when I installed it. But you can catch the same pokemon again and again while sitting at home, after you catched it a few times you can evolve one of them.
I just hope they bring more features like battles against nearby players or a proper trading system. Pokecenters and Markets would be awesome along with an in-game currency.
But all we can do is wait....

I live in a fairly decent sized town, I've actually met quite a few friends by just popping a Lure Module at a pokestop near me and having people swarm towards it, the best team is obvious though.
