time is a concept that was made up by humans regarding the movement of the sun and such. it also helps us organize our day according to what time it might be. if there are aliens (not trying to bring up another topic) they might have a totally different set of time, or none at all

I'm torn in this issue MPGH, because to me there is a clear interdependence between time and motion. We know motion exists by perception but could time be a cognitive byproduct as apposed to a true property of the universe? But motion occurs within set intervals that we define as time...
A universe without time but be a universe without motion because even the chemical reactions mentioned earlier, those occur within different instances.

It's completely useless to think in these terms because any conclusions we make will be unfounded. Just asking "does time exist" can be taken in so many ways.

I fear we may spend more time with mental masturbation than with making any meaningful conclusions.

I still feel that time is something we mentally use to stay organized and help us with keeping everything sturdy within the human environment, but I do not think that time is a reality where infact everything happens because of it and that everything knows what time is, i believe it is a concept of the way the sun moves across the sky, not what makes us age, the planets develop or our brains expand, before the Mayans made the calendar we therefor would not have known about time and so since they created it we now know, I'm finally going to admit that it's possible that time is something, but I'm not going to admit that it's something, it's very complicated, i believe time is real, but i feel it is only real because we make it real, i believe religion is only real because it's what you believe in, if you stand from my point of view you would believe there is a very complicated way that things happened with the world and the universe, but not because of some phony "Jesus", but since this is not the religion section i will not go much further than that. But you're religon you're belief is real only because you believe in it, it was created just as time is, it's real but if you don't believe in it, then it can't be real saying that there is nothing to prove that it is.

Well if time doesn't exist then the theory of space is wrong?
Space and time are interwoven into each other.
So if you "speed" up time you are creating the thought of time travel.



But what he is saying blanking your mind not thinking allows your brain to process.


It is like having a "blink" sleep.
You go to sleep and wake up the next morning, feeling like you slept for a "blink"


This theory just uses the thoughts of you mind blanking out and not thinking.
