Well, I got my Altec Lansing VS2421's on sale for 25$.

They're almost as good as a surround sound system.

I try to get everything as FLAC (when using FLAC the bitrates can be hella higher too and they mostly are), the 480s are mainly oggs I believe.

Nothing special. When it comes to bands, there's talent on drums, talent on guitar and bass, and talent on the vocals. And there's always the occasional amazing piano solos.
