Thanks this is probably the problem, so your saying if I get a avatar over 150x150 and MPGH re sizes it the image will lose it's transparency?

If 150×150 are your limits, yes. Boy it feels good to have 180×250

Fixing symptoms != fixing the problem. You guys need to lrn2read:

@Alen is correct, also if you have an animated gif that is bigger than your avatar restrictions, the resizing of that gif done by MPGH gets rid of the animation.

To be more specific, only the first frame is kept. Though I genuinely wonder what MPGH would do with animated pngs

The same event would most likely occur, where the image is resized and only the first frame of the animated png is displayed.
