Sorry I didn't answer any of your questions, but I have PS3 Slim and I think it's totally worth buying!
And for PS1 games, I don't think that PS3 plays them... But I know that you can download PS1 classics from the PSN store, and even some PS2 games from the PSN store and play them on your PS3.

There was a store in another state I lived in, where I brought let's say 4 used games for $100. Then I could keep returning a game and getting store credit to buy something else and I kept doing that. The store is only located at one state and I was wondering if there any stores/websites where I can do the same thing. I know one example is GameFly.

If they make a cross gaming platform it will probably be only the next Playstation and Xbox because PC and Wii U are just too drastically different.
