The specs certainly aren't shitty. Its just for two hours of your time you save lots of money instead of having a prebuilt machine shipped to you. Nothing about Alienware laptops is actually terrible at all. Again, its just that you'll find building them costs two hours and saves you loads.

Don't be stupid. Give me your budget and the specifics on what you want and I will find you a better laptop than Alienware has to offer for the same price if not cheaper.

And about the laptop thing, thats a joke too. Do not ever buy 'gaming' laptops. No laptop is going to play games at decent graphics, and decent FPS, regardless of its price. If there is one, it will be guaranteed to chew threw so much battery power, you will have to have it plugged up while playing, which at that point when being tethered down you may as well have just bought a desktop.

Gaming laptops sacrifices every benefit of having a laptop, which is portability, size, and freedom to move around. Gaming laptops are heavy, need to be tethered down so save their batteries from dying after one hour of playing a game, and are clunky and frankly, usually ugly looking too.

And for te record, you can build your own laptop. Its benefit will not be as great compared to a desktop, but you can scrounge up parts online to make your own.

People hate on alienware because your paying for the brand. They overprice their products like crazy and if you look at many of the desktops, it is so much cheaper to just build them yourself than to buy it from them. They don't offer anything special and they charge really high.

Recently upgraded my graphic card to a GTX 570, it wasn't so hard and i didn't pay like $2000, alienware probably would've charged.
Yes I know i boosted that price but oh well you get the point.

Well a $3000 Alienware has the same specs as like a $1200 laptop. You are pretty much paying for the lights and the bragging rights. Then again you will probably just be called spoilt and inexperienced :/

When Alienware first came out, they where all about providing a high end computer and a good price. Now that they have a name for themselves they bring out mid range stuff at a highend price. All company's do it and everyone has now realized AW followed the trend.

Ration of Alienware's cost to the cost to a computer with the same components but without the brand.
