Its more viable because Tomatoes and Potatoes are from the same family of plants, and share the same amount of chromosomes. Really its nothing more than a limb transplant from a different skinned person. Only instead of another skin color, its another half of a plant; and instead of an arm, its a flowering reproductive organ

In such a scenario where a limb from one human is transplanted to another, the rejection rate is almost a certainty of 100%. Every Composite Tissue Allotransplantation done to date requires an intense amount of medication for life to keep the rejection of the limb at bay. Even so the plants are from a similar family, the RNA structure is different to the point of mutational reconstructed sequences can easily be an occurrence. If we were to see mass production of these plants, the probability for one to mutate would increase a minimum of ten fold, these mutations could quite easily be anywhere from minor irritants, to chronic acute stomach syndrome, to neural degradation, to possible lethality in a rejection of the matter by our own systems as being a foreign object with unusual genetic pattern based sequential MRNA offsets.
