Any one know how to track an ipod after its stolen?!

So, got mine stolen in school today by some FUCKER. I have a pass code lock on it so they cant get in. And I executed the "find my iPhone app". But it says that my iPod has to be connected to the internet in order for it to go into lost mode. But since my iPod is indeed pass code locked the ****** that stole it cant connect to the internet which means that the security cannot kick in. So my question is, will the ****** that stole my iPod be able to just restore it and take it? and is there any other way of tracking them? . Already went to the police and had them check the cameras but no luck
. Hope the kid trips, falls , and dies! 350$ wasted -.-

PS will not be on mpgh much anymore since I'm never home, and now have no mobile device to go on anymore.

I dont think you can restore an Ipod without unlocking it first, and unless they are smart and take it to an illegal place to get it hacked or flashed they wont be able to do anything. Maybe sell on ebay, poor bastard who buys it will be pissed when theres a passcode on it lolol.

I think there's no way to track unless you have GPS installed. There's a software that tracks where it is from another device.
