How to change my CD-Key?

How does one change their CD-Key for Arma 2 without it changing back to its original when you launch it? I don't want to hear "its patched" because if so why are people still selling cd-keys. And if it is 100% patched would getting a pirated version of the game and changing the pirated versions key work?

man... just uninstall all arma 2 and/or arma 3. rebuy it through steam and reinstall

to my knowledge that is the only way to get around a battleeye ban. once it is done. ' it is done '
