Argentinian family rips out of mentally ill daughters eyeballs during excorcism

A young woman is currently in jail in Argentina for practicing an illicit exorcism and savagely maiming her own sister. Yanina Juárez (22) arrived bleeding profusely at a hospital in General Pinedo – a town in the northeastern region of Argentina called Chaco – approximately 685 miles from Buenos Aires. To the astonishment of the attending physicians, she was found to be missing both of her eyes. Police officer Pablo Almirón said “The girl didn’t have eyes: it was terrible to see.” The incident occurred on the evening of August 17 in the arid region near Paraguay. Police and medical reports say that Yanina’s sister believed that by plucking out her eyes, she would be delivered of a demonic possession.

Once the police were alerted to the crime, they went to the family home and found a Bible next to a bloody towel on which were found Yanina’s extracted optic nerves. Yanina is recuperating and is in stable condition following treatment in Resistencia – the capital of Chaco Province. Her eyeballs were not found.

Yanina had been known for occasionally wandering through the town and for having psychological issues. When she did not respond to prayer, or to help from shamans, Yanina’s family took action.

I feel sorry for the nurses working there. I know they must see some crazy shit and are trained to be prepared for it but that must have been terrifying.
