Is someone spreading malware under MPGH's name?

Hey guys, today I opened my emails and saw that I had an email titled "Free eBook from MPGH".
This looked pretty suspicious so I opened the email and read it.
This was what it said:
"Here is your free eBook from MPGH!
Thanks for shopping with us!
We hope to see you again soon!
Regards,
Rainbow Dash,
Head of Support,"
It also had an attachment named "[REDACTEDs] Private Money Method.otd"
Why on earth would MPGH supply us with a money making ebook for no particular reason and since when does MPGH have a private shop?
Another aspect supporting the fact that this email is fake, is how this email is written - it seems cheesy as fudge.
Now I certainly didn't download or open the attachment, hence I didn't even click it in any way possible.
Don't wanna get rekt by any type of phishing / malware / ... attack, do we.
Now my question to the admins is, was this actually anyone from MPGH?

I urge other people receiving emails like this not to open or download any of the files attached to the email(s) until this issue has been resolved or the go clear from an admin has been given.

I have blurred out the name of the sender in the attached image, as I am sure anything related to personally identifiable information is not allowed to be posted publically on the MPGH forums. Although I will supply the email and the name linked to it to an admin if they have to enquire about this / need it for investigative purposes. I also have the emails of the 2 other recipents of the email as I can view these in the additional email information.

I hope someone can help me / us resolve this issue, because I'm very cautious regarding matters like these.

View the email headers it will show you where it's been spoofed from.

I don't see how reporting this to MPGH helps, as MPGH won't have any power to stop any mail coming to your inbox. Every user who gets into their mailing list has to have an IQ of average to not get hacked.

As this email was sent out to 2 other peoples emails, I believe that they got our emails from MPGH through the email sending function, so I suppose Dave could check if the other 2 email accounts were in the MPGH database and if so, from which user the emails were sent from, because if this proves correct the sole person or the person behind the bot who sent the email may have a Skype or any other messaging account linked to his MPGH profile. If there is a Skype ( or another messaging service) , many different things can be done.
It's not really about me getting "hacked", it's about the greater good of the MPGH community.

How will he be found? Your email can't be acquired within the "email sending function" since it does not leak the mail to the user as I could see.

If the same message was actually sent from MPGH to someone else through the email sending function, then they could probably link the messages to a user profile.

I doubt if its sent from that, I think it's mass mailing. Anyway, nobody will do this with their main profile. autism
