My budget is $650 and looking for a setup that can run most games on medium-high settings 30+ fps. Desktop only, fuck you laptop plebs. #nopersonalattk
Try to look into building one, I built mine for roughly $900 one just like it would cost around $2,000 retail price. It's a lot cheaper to build your own and you can customize it, and change it in the future, I'd give it a try.

Look at the motherboard box or manual it should tell you or go on the manufacturer's website
4 main things to look out for:
1. Socket support.
2. Chipset support.
3.Motherboard wattage support must support the TDP of given CPU.
Listed on most manufacturer's websites, even OEMs like HP.
4. Bios support.
This is easy with a motherboard you bought non-OEM. Simply visit the Motherboard manufacturer's website, look up your Motherboard model and look for "CPU support".
This is more difficult with OEM motherboards. (motherboards that came with computers purchased from the likes of HP, Acer etc. These are OEM manufacturers) They will only ever officially support the CPUs that they came with originally. There is always the odd chance that if the chipset is compatible, the CPU will work, regardless. If the bios is
Please built it yourself, saves you money for a keyboard

[+] Build your own - best bang for your buck. Order parts from "NewEgg"
[+] If you don't want to build your own, order one from IBUYPOWER and in comments put "8765" and I will most likely be your sales rep.

Can't really help you with MOBO, but as for a CPU get a i5 *K, as for GPU I have a 1GB GTX 750 Ti and it is splendid, a 2GB version would run most games on High
