Can I get banned for receiving modded money?

I was afk for about 10 mins and I came back with having 12 million in cash and money being dropped on me. I read up on some forums and people say that they reported getting money but they themselves got a ban. So what do I do, do I report the money or not?

Report your money to R*support they will remove it or if u are lucky rockstar will remove it before u open ticket to R*support

Only when you spending the money you CAN get banned. Rockstar detecting now cash receivers only if you willing it (spending, asking)...
I and a friend got 10 days banned. Yes we have asking in public chat. A modder was in the lobby.
Received ~20Million$ and got banned next day.

Yes. When you willing receiving modded money you abuse a exploit.
Thats the ban reason. Public Cash dropping is not safe anymore. I hope Cash dropping Service is safe.
Recovery Service... I dont know. I think its safe when you do it on PS3/Xbox 360.
