I remember DayZ Devs talking stuff like, no more hacks in SA, no scripts. What happened to that? I just checked and there seem to be scripts released n stuff? Also is DayZ playable or is it like full of hackers?

It's playable, sometimes there's a overload on hackers but there's mostly regular players still there.

They didn't really stop all the hackers, they just made it require a shit ton more effort and work to keep a hack undetected. thus decreasing the total amount of hackers because only a handful of cheat devs our still selling undetected cheats and the prices of execution methods seem to have skyrocketed.
