Steam account hijacked help?

So recently I tried to login into my steam account to play some rust, and I couldn't login, long story short a guy got my original information and contacted steam support saying that he owns the account. I added him and he replied back with I know all of the original information, don't waste your time. So am I wasting my time? I've sent the conversation to the steam support ticket and my proof of ownership. Also how was he able to get my steam account when he doesn't even know my password, all he knows is the username, and possibly an old password; I've scanned my entire computer nothing was found. What was the possibility of how he might have hijacked it?

Could've just cracked the account, I suggest you find really old transaction ID's and use those to help your case. Sucks to be hacked.

Close the account, contact steam support, claim that the account was stolen; add proof by saying whos name your creditcard is under, or your first game purchase.

There is no way they got into it unless you allowed them access with steam guard and if you didnt use steam guard than maybe he hacked your email.

he didnt hack my email, i have steam guard. I'd assume he knew a old email of mine that I used to have on that account to use it as an excuse to say it was his account.

If he had access to the first email made on the account than I would suggest getting it back.

Just so you know, there are bypasses for Steam Guard, that's why its HIGHLY suggested by Valve to use Mobile one for extra security, people STILL think that steam guard is safest...
