say I buy a new GTA V game from g2a. Do I still need a physical PS4 to transfer that character to the PC?

If you buy GTA V on PC, and you login with the same Socialclub account as you have on PS4, you are able to transfer it from PS4 to PC. If you have a different Socialclub account on PC then on PS4, you can't transfer it over to the PC.
