In that one aspect, sure. But there is more than just hardware. Someone who doesn't care about hardware will choose apple instead, because they don't need to worry about how much ram their phone has. They just know that the apps on the appstore will work with what their phone has in it. Its consistency and simplicity that sells apple. And for alot of people that is just not what they want.

Android is trash after years of using it after a couple of months starts going slow and you have to reset. Turns out I didn't reset this time and I had a good ass phone which it was Nexus 6 after 5 months of use ( not heavy use) started going slow and I switched to iPhone 6s way more faster even with 2gb of ram you can install so manny shit that is crazy and the phone won't go slow. With android that doesn't happend.
