What I've done with ALL of my androids is root the software (it sounds stupid, but it's not.) because normally when I root them I get a cleaning application and I wipe most of the internal storage removing everything that's unneeded, it normally preserves the life of the phone, compared to my unrooted devices.

This is exactly what I do for all my phones too, I can say that this does work 90% of the time, BUT I've rooted a couple of times that really screwed up my phone.

That generally only happens to me if I haven't fully checked to see if the phone supports rooting, you don't want to try and root a phone that doesn't say "Tested, Working" kind of thing, from what I've learned.

I'd start by just googling your phone like "(Phone Name) Root" but if nothing comes up search for Universal Androot apk, that works great and it works for a plethora of devices, you will need to enable outside source download though in the settings, and when you launch the app it'll tell you if your phone is supported.
