A question bout photoshop.

Alrite..im making my own mod.i DIDNT make ANY request cos im NOT a noob or a lazy dumbass but i need to kno this.How do i paint the gun in silver or gold in photoshop??I cant find any tutorials on youtube on what im looking for.Most of them are only for text.(ALSO TRIED THE MPGH SEARCH BUTTON,)So any help?Or links to tutorial..That would be helpful.
