My opinion on Middlemen.

Greetings;

To begin, I would like to emphasize that this is solely my opinion. I have no dislike for any middlemen, Dave, or MPGH. as a matter of fact, I appreciate everything that has been done. congratulations on 10 years of existence.

Now that that has been said, lets get right into it.

Personally, I think the argument that "Middlemen get stressed and resign" does not apply in this situation. please note that becoming a middleman is optional; you either do or you don't. if I'm not mistaken, an application process occurs, and you must be a trusted user on this website. those are the only requirements. nobody in no way is obliged to become a middleman, Minion force, or any of those things.


That being said, I recognize that being a middleman is a thankless job. I know they receive nothing in return for their services. Thank you too all Middlemen who stepped up to the plate, and did a good job. selfless folks like yourselves deserve recognition.

Moving forward, here is what I think should be done.

WE should bring back Middlemen services; the market is one of the biggest aspects of this website. its the reason why I joined in this community in the first place. but we need to recognize these selfless people who take their time out of their busy day to help us.

perhaps a fee could be implemented; $5? $10? that could be decided upon.

maybe Middlemen could receive special perks? perhaps free donator, or perks on servers such as the Official Runescape server, etc.
in my opinon taking middlemen away severly affects the market, is a key part of this website.

You clearly don't know why MM service (free) was implemented on MPGH.
All other sites have paid for MM, it would not make MPGH a place to go for MM.

taking away MM services, not MM. you can still consult them for marketing advice, rules, and if something looks risky.

people cannot predict their schedule, especially as a young adult, and there's a limited amount of trusted users on here that have to handle a full potential of 3.2 million users that may ask at any time.

Middlemen do not make up a massive place in the marketplace, they're a service for free for MPGH to use as a convenience for a safer trade. It doesn't severely affect the market. If anything it teaches dumbasses to learn to spot a risky trade and learn how to NOT get scammed.

You should have to pay a fee to use the middleman service for a certain amount of time, then the middlemen could be paid using the money they make from that for the however many deals they do a week or so.

Being an MM would be very stressful.

The only problem that I can see would be Dave wasting his time finding the right middleman to do the job because it seems that everyone resigns after a few weeks/months. That's the main reason that it was shut down, because middlemen kept resigning and Dave doesn't have the time to find new ones. I agree with your statement that people need to stop becoming middlemen when they know that the job involves a lot of time and stress. If you can't do the job, don't waste Dave's time and apply, which apparently many people do who have resigned.

My solution to this whole middleman problem would to be allow unofficial middleman after they've established themselves on the market and allow them to charge a fee for middlemanning. If one of the unofficial middlemen scam, tough shit, you should've used a more trusted middleman with a higher fee. For example, the website *****, which is a known runescape marketplace allows unofficial middlemanning and it works out just fine. If you're worried about being scammed using a relatively new unofficial middleman, use one of the staff members who would open a service (guarantee you there would be many for the right price). Having it so that we have to pay a price to a select group of people to middleman is absurd, you're just basically running a monopoly since they're offering a service.

Bro every trade I have ever done on MPGH was without a MM and I never got scammed. MM is literally pointless if you know how to do a little research on the person you are trading with.
