Man, I know exactly how you feel. My parents suddenly decided to move to the South, specifically an area with a non-existent Asian population because my dad had a serious drinking problem. Asians became such a rare sighting that I started pointing them out.
Anyways, I started my first year of high school as one of the the few Asian kids there, which was around 5 out of 5,000. Everyone knew each other from middle school and no one gave me a chance except people who loved anime and a few who knew about kpop and were interested in Asian culture. I eventually made other friends throughout the years through my classes and as people eventually matured, but I became the token Asian friend. I have literally been introduced as "my asian friend", and I can't count how many times I've been asked, "Are you Chinese?", the only Asian ethnicity they seem to be aware of, and "Do you eat dog?". I even considered making my senior quote, "No, I do not eat dog." Most of them are usually ignorant rather than racist though.
