1.0.177 texture hack for more than 1 round

Lets start off, you will need a NTFS file system for this to work, there is no way around that. The reason for this, is because FAT32 system does not provide the necessary security.

Step 1) You will need to have original files. Also you will need something can open the iwd's. e.g. pakscape. (I used pakscape v0.11)

Step 2) Create a blank file called, localized_english.textures.iwd

Step 3) Using pakscape openup the first iwd's: they are iw_00.iwd to iw_07.iwd. Also open up localized_english.textures.iwd

Step 4) Copy all the files from the IWD's into localized_english.textures.iwd. then using pakscape to do a save on the localized_english.textures.iwd
Note: all the iwi's go into the images file, while the FileSysCheck.cfg go into the top most directory.

Step 5) copy all the custom textures you want to use into the localized_english.textures.iwd and do a replace. Then save again. Your end file should be around the 1.3gb mark.

Step 6) Copy the localized_english.textures.iwd into the MW2\main folder.

Step 7) Now comes the fun bit, download the zip file i have included at the bottom, then extact all the batch files in it into the MW2\main folder

Step 8) Open up the batch files, by right clicking and choosing edit. And do a replace (ctrl+H) on the username. So in the search line you enter username, and the replace line with your username(the username you enter vista or win 7 with). then save the file.

Step 9) Now you should be good to go, but just to double check. run the z_deny_win7.bat file first, once that finish running, right click on iw_00.iwd and go to security tab, and click on your username, it should have at the bottom with deny read ticked. once that is confirmed run z_allow_win7.bat. once again after this is finished, check the security of iw_00.iwd now you should have read access.

Step 10) Before loading up MW2 run the z_deny_win7.bat, Now load up MW2. once your in the main menu, go back to desktop by pressing alt+tab and run the z_allow_win7.bat now alt+tab into the game again,

Step 11) play your first game, the textures should be fine.

Step 12) I really suggest you play in windowed mode if you can't assign function keys to your keyboard. for the future games you do not need to exit out of the game anymore, all just have to join a game and when the game is loading run the z_deny_win7.bat when it says "awaiting Connection" and now you will have your textures again, if you did it at the right time.

All credit goes to the guys that created the textures, and the get minds finding out how to make the textures work in 177. But especially to NAKA for making the first batch possible.

NOTE: If the texture didn't load for you the 2nd time, don't worry you don't need to exit the game, just join another lobby and try again.

i would bet...(since i cant PM you...) that you cant send PMs either... sounds like your account setup hasn't been finished... you have to activate thru email to finish everything up....
