did you follow the steps exactly and not skipped anything?like:
have you deleted all those files when mw2 WASNT launched?

do you see more than 1 numbered folder when doing step 2? if yes: i could tell you which of them is the right one.

I used this Method on a Legit account because I screwed my Account with a Rankhack, but I had 2 folders and just deleted them both
(First copied it to my Desktop, in case I deleted the wrong folders... )

I know a tutorial as this has been posted before but I still see people starting topics asking for a tutorial of how to reset your rank to Lv.1 No prestige.

EDIT: Some information about ranks;
The highest rank will save so if your are like Lv.30 and hack to Lv.70, Lv.70 will save.
If you are like Lv. 56 and hack to Lv. 34, It won't save as Lv.34, it will stay saved as Lv. 56 because the highest rank will save.
So if you want a lower rank; you can use this tutorial to reset your rank and hack to the Lv. you want.

This tutorial will reset everything so your titles, emblems, weapons, attachments, accolades, challenges and rank of course will be reset.

Well, here is my tutorial:

Do this when MW2 is NOT launched.

1. Go to:
C/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/Common/ModernWarfare2/players
and delete all .STAT files.
2. Then go to:
C/Program Files/Steam/Userdata/Some numbered folder/Some numbered folder/Remote
And delete the 2 files there
3. Then launch MW2 and play till you are lv.2 so it saves and you are done!

anyway before i used the rank hack to get to level 10 prestige, i was a level 2 prestige level 65, my question is can i use the can i use the rank hack to get to my old level without getting banned???

this is only to reset everything. if u hacked to a higher lv than u orginally was: u cant get ur old stats/rank back.
what you can do is to reset your rank and just use a rankhack and hack to the lv u orginally was.
