Can pirates still play with steam users???

I just got MW2 working through the zero gear thing, but I can only play with other people using the zero gear way.

Is there a way zero gear people can play with steam users?

Neither EAM or CE will get you banned while they are running in the background. They might give you trouble if you use them while in a match or lobby. Otherwise, there's no danger.

All I can say is, don't debate until you've waited 2 months or so. "Delayed Bans". And all hacks can get you banned even if VAC isn't there; for example, level hacking to level 70 from level 10 is extremely noticeable. If you play it safe, then you won't get banned.

I also read about logs Mw2 keeps in the game folders. I read it and damn, every single chat log and level up details are all there! I deleted it, I hope Steam didn't get to read it yet :O
