Incase you lose your account they can send you a text or a call to confirm.
Were you dropped as a kid, perhaps?
I just bought a knife and they requested for my phone number. I gave it to them,
then later they said my order is complete so I got my knife. But they never call or text me?
Quite pissed off considering the fact that I use my phone for business.
They also said they added my phone number to my G2A account but I can't find it on my G2A account profile anywhere indicating my number.
Kinda of bull needing the number for "verification"

E-mails are easily lost and easily scammed.
Phones are not so easily lost or scammed.
Plus, it's much easier to just swipe away your mobile pornography in order to look at your inbox to enter a few digits key to confirm your identity rather than logging in to an e-mail adress which you might have forgotten anyway.

They ask for your number because if the guys over at G2A think you're cute, they might give u a buzz. They are elite haxors, who can haxs into your webcam and see how you look
I'd rather not spread my number all over the internet for my own reasons. So I get his point actually
If your smart, then you would use 2FA which is 2 Factor Authentication. Using that = 99.99% chance you won't be hacked.
