I want to make CA run faster.

I think CA could run with as little as 1GB of RAM on XP but the video card is important. I'd say you should have a minimum of 256MB dedicated video memory as well as some other features to it.

But if you want to have some real fun 8GB RAM/1GB video card.

8GB Ram is completely overkill for most pc users. NTM, if the Pavilion came with XP, then it may not even support over 4GB. For XP, 2-3GB will be plenty.

Framebuffer on a video card should not be used as a determining factor when buying, unless you have specific goals... like running GTAIV with 16xAF and FSAA.

A high end video card will Not run in a HP without a powersupply upgrade. IF the computer has a PCIe x16 slot, then I wouldn't put anything over a x6xx series ATi card or x600gt nVidia card in. Worse luck if there is an AGP slot, or no slot at all.

You guys should NOT give him advices on to what to buy, he can easily overclock his PC by RAM and by video card to makes it run faster.

Contact a local PC store and ask them for free what should you simply buy.

Maybe for free how about Gamebooster for Games if you want to play CA faster then the rest just RAM too make your computer faster and then if you still got enough a good video card...

I would like you to post all your comps current specs, so I may review then post the possibilities.

PS- Many have mentioned you buy more ram/video card. I wouldn't take those into consideration until they know what you have for hardware currently. Buying new parts is great, but if your initial parts aren't the greatest, it might not be worth upgrading.
